Dear Parents and Guardians:
Have you ever considered becoming a substitute teacher? If you have a Bachelor’s degree, you may obtain a substitute teaching certificate in Rhode Island. East Providence is often in need of substitute teachers. In the interest of securing a greater number of substitutes, we are offering substitute teacher workshops for all parents and guardians of East Providence students. We invite all interested adults to join us at one of these sessions to learn more about substitute teaching and whether it might be an option for you.
The workshops will allow you to:
- Meet the building principals and hear more about what it takes to be a substitute teacher
- Learn about the pay scale for substitute teachers and how substitute teachers are hired in our district
- Access to the district’s substitute teacher form
- Complete and notarize an authorization for a criminal background check
- Complete fingerprinting process
- Schedule an interview, orientation meeting, and school shadowing experience
Workshops will be held in the district at East Providence City Hall, 145 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI 02914 in Room 306, Third Floor:
January 30, 2017 9:30AM - 10:30AM
January 30, 2017 5:30PM - 6:30PM
We look forward to welcoming you to our substitute teaching community. If you have any questions, or if you need more information, please contact Cheryl Mammone, Director of Human Resources, at email@example.com or 401-435-7500, Ext. 30073.
